Radio Quiet Zone (RQZ)
Radio Quiet Zone Mode
Some operational areas—such as locations near scientific research facilities or satellite arrays—require vehicles to minimise radio emissions. TRACKbox TB2 and TRACKbox 4 devices include a Radio Quiet Zone Mode to support these requirements.
Addition installation of a latching push button is required
How It Works
Vehicles fitted with the optional Radio Quiet Zone button can temporarily disable RF transmissions from all connected TRACKbox devices.
Press the button once to activate Quiet Zone Mode.
The LED ring around the button will illuminate to indicate the mode is active.
Press the button again to deactivate and return the system to normal operation.
What Happens in Quiet Zone Mode
While enabled, TRACKbox devices will:
Stop all standard RF transmissions
Continue to record and store GPS and telematics data locally (no loss of tracking information)
For safety, essential alerts will still be transmitted if required:
Panic / duress events
Crash or rollover alerts
Once the button is released and the LED turns off, the device resumes normal transmission. All stored telematics data will be back-filled.
When to Use This Feature
Quiet Zone Mode should be used only in designated radio-restricted areas as defined by your organisation or site operator.
